With light stones you set accents!

  • 3551227 Cerablanket 128 61x36,6cm, 50mm thick
  • 3050200 CARBORUNDUM deburrer HDHS

Step 1

Select a few matching pieces of glass. Light colors of semi-transparent glasses have the most intense effect. Dark and transparent glasses look a bit more subtle. It doesn‘t have to be fusing glass. Other glasses can also be bended at low temperatures. Possible side effect: a silk-matt surface (devitrification).

Step 2

Cut or tear off Cerablanket 3551227 (fiber wool) to stone-like pieces and shape them. Cut the glass accordingly. Deburr the edges - a simple hand deburrer 3050200 is sufficient - even better a 3050401 sanding pad.

Step 3

Put the Cerablanket pieces in the oven. Now place the glasses on the matching Cerablanket pieces. Make sure that the glass pieces are not too big.

Step 4

Bend at low slumping temperature. The glass should only touch the Cerablanket. If you are not sure what temperature to bend at, set a lower temperature and watch the process.

Step 5

After the firing process, clean the glass parts from the fiber wool.

Example firing curve Oceanside glasses*

1) 120 min - 500°C
2) skip - 660°C
3) 30 min - 660°C
4) skip - 510°C
5) 120 min - 510°C
6) 120 min - 425°C
7) 120 min - 425°C

Example firing curve Bullseye glasses*

1) 120 min - 500°C
2) skip - 680°C
3) 30 min - 680°C
4) skip - 520°C
5) 120 min - 520°C
6) 120 min - 460°C
7) 120 min - 460°C

Step 6

Decorate the light stones in the garden, by the pond or wherever you want a nice colored atmosphere. Place a solar LED light chain under the glass so that you can achieve a wonderful atmosphere with the light stones in the evening.

Tips:

If you use iridescent glasses, put the iridescent layer on top.
