BULLSEYE 0345-50F
opalescent steel jade
flat glass 2mm, 51 x 43 cm = 0,22 m²
Metal effect !!
At low fusing and bending temperatures, a metallic gray film often forms on the surface. This effect can disappear at full fuse temperature. Cover with clear glass to achieve an even opal green. To maintain the metallic effect, extend the holding times at melting or bending temperatures. The metallic layer can develop where 0345 is exposed and can change over the course of several fires. It ranges from a thin, shiny gray to a thicker, matt metallic.
When fusing at full fusing temperature or above, yellow residues can appear on the kiln shelf. Remove the residues before the next firing and replace the shelf primer or the shelf paper to avoid possible contamination in subsequent firings.
The exposed surface of 0345 is more sensitive to agents such as glass cleaners, markers and Glastac. Traces of these liquids, which often burn cleanly, can be visible in burned works, even if they are wiped off before burning. To minimize this effect, reduce the contact time between the glass and possible contaminants. Also avoid using Glastac on the surface.
