General
Rust as a design medium can give ordinary everyday objects a completely new look. We came up with something very special for this impulse. We combine the familiar sight of a mannequin with the properties of our oxidation paints.
Step 1
Compensate any unevenness on your object with the help of sandpaper and create a flat surface.
Step 2
Coat the entire body with the universal primer and let the surface dry well. (We used the red-brown adhesive base here, don't be confused!)
Step 3
As soon as the surface has dried, the iron base is used. Just like the primer, this is applied to the object and left to dry again. You get the “bursting” surface by applying the iron base like filler of different thicknesses to your object and allowing it to harden. When the iron base dries it gets a reddish brown color.
Step 4
After the iron base has hardened, you can set accents with our oxidation media. The chemical process creates an optical highlight. Depending on the medium you are using, the surface becomes greenish, reddish or brownish. Use different media on an object to give the whole thing more excitement.
Tip:
We blindfolded our doll with a scarf. Just like our doll, the scarf was treated with the primer and then worked with gold metal base.
